Abstract

Stoll presented geospatial monitoring of Tetiaroa, including a 1955–2023 geomorphological review of its 12 motu and a machine-learning pipeline (by PhD student Tobias Fischer) using XGBoost and transfer learning to automate shoreline extraction. The system flags surface, lateral, shape and vertical change, acting as a climate-adaptation alert tool transferable across atolls.
